Alan MacKenzie, BSc (Econ), FSI, Chief Executive
Alan co-founded ARM Corporate Finance in 1994. ARM was acquired by Hichens, Harrison & Co. PLC in 2007, changed its name to Blomfield Corporate Finance Limited and absorbed the business of Blomfield Street Securities Limited. He has extensive experience in stockbroking, mergers and acquisitions and corporate finance gained over a number of years with Grieveson Grant and Co. (now part of Dresdner Kleinwort) and Credit Lyonnais.
He headed the electronics research team at Grieveson Grant and went on to establish a new team at CL Alexanders Laing and Cruickshank where he became an associate partner in 1986 and a director in 1987. He was a member of the London Stock Exchange and became a Fellow of the Securities Institute in 2000. Before the formation of ARM Corporate Finance, Alan formed ARM & Co. in 1988, which specialised in mergers and acquisitions. Alan graduated from the London School of Economics.

Angus Samuels, FSI, Non – Executive Director
Angus has held a number of senior positions in the investment industry over the past 30 years both in the UK and South Africa, formerly acting (in turn) as Chief Executive of Credit Suisse Asset Management Ltd, Sanwa Asset Management Ltd and Sanlam Investment Management Ltd, (the investment arm of South Africa’s second largest financial services group). Angus is currently non-executive Chairman of Punter Southall Group, a UK based financial services group with over 600 employees, comprising Punter Southall (consulting actuaries), Punter Southall Financial Management (Independent Financial Advisers) and PSigma Investments (an FSA regulated investment business, with over £3 billion under management).

Ian Fenn, ACIB, FSI, Director
Ian co-founded ARM Corporate Finance (now Blomfield Corporate Finance Limited) in 1994. His corporate finance background has been gained over many years in merchant banking and stockbroking. He was head of corporate finance at Societe Generale Strauss Turnbull Securities between 1986 and 1991 and immediately prior to that was head of corporate finance at Savory Milln, having previously worked at Grieveson, Grant & Co., Ionian Bank and Schroders. He was a member of the London Stock Exchange and is a Fellow of the Securities Institute.
Toby Howell, FSI, Director
Toby began his career in the Equities division at UBS Warburg in London and went on to help manage the investment division of Internet Business Group plc. Since then he has specialised in smaller companies’ corporate finance undertaking transactions on the Official List and AIM as well as private equity transactions. He is a director and founder of MN Specialty Steels Limited (the UK holding company for a Balkan steelworks with 1,500 employees) as well as a director and founder of AIM listed Summit Resources plc, and Chairman of PLUS quoted Fairholt Resources plc. He holds a diploma from the Securities & Investment Institute. Additionally, Toby is an officer in the Territorial Army and served on operations in Iraq during 2004 for which he received a Commander in Chief’s Commendation for outstanding service.
Charlie Hill-Wood, MA, Director – Corporate Finance
After graduating from Oxford, Charlie started his Investment Banking career at Merrill Lynch, where he played key roles in a number of significant equity market transactions including the IPO of Burberry Group plc, ICI plc’s £830m rights issue in 2002, eircom’s demerger and €4.5bn sale of its mobile subsidiary eircell to Vodafone and the $540m acquisition of Gerrard & National plc by Old Mutual plc. He left Merrill Lynch in 2004 to study for an MBA at IESE Business School in Spain, after which he acted as a corporate finance consultant for Peter Hambro Mining plc in its acquisition of OJSC Irgiredmet, Russia’s largest mining laboratory, in October.

Nick Harriss, ACIB, FSI, Director - Corporate Finance
Nick started his career with Midland Bank in 1987 and during the next ten years gained experience in corporate banking, strategic planning, investment research and fund management. He then spent two years in stockbroking with Nicholson Barber before moving into the telecommunications industry as Managing Director of the telecommunications subsidiary of Totalise PLC.

Ben Jeynes, LLB, ASI, Corporate Finance Associate
Ben holds an LLB law degree from Brunel University, and is also an Associate of the Securities Institute. Ben started his career at Blomfield Corporate Finance in 2006 where he has been involved in IPOs, Reverse Takeovers, Mergers and Acquisitions, Offers and Private Equity transactions. Having gained a depth of experience in IPOs, predominantly on the AIM market, Ben was also recently a member of the team that advised the Board of QPR Holdings Limited on the Offer made by Sarita Capital Investments Inc. and to the Board of Europe Steel PLC on the Offer made by Ferrous Metal Company Limited.
Wye-Li Long, BSC, LLB, Corporate Finance Associate
Wye-Li started her career as an Oracle Consultant in Malaysia providing Business Intelligence solutions after completing her BSc in Computer Science degree from Oxford Brookes University. She has successfully implemented Credit Risk Management and Customer Relationship Management systems at various financial and manufacturing institutions across Asia Pacific and North America. In 2001, she worked as Business Development Manager in Singapore for a SGX-listed company specialising in mobile technology offering financial planning solutions to the insurance industry. Prior to joining Blomfield, she completed her LLB degree from King’s College London.

Emily Morgan, BA (Hons), Director – Corporate Finance
After graduating with a first class honors degree in Accountancy with Law from the University of Exeter, Emily joined JP Morgan as a Global Investment Banking Analyst in the Telecoms, Media and Technology sector where she gained M&A experience in multi billion dollar transactions. Prior to joining Blomfield Emily was employed by Rowan Dartington and Company Limited (now Blue Oar Plc ) where she qualified as a nominated adviser. She has managed numerous AIM IPO’s and been involved in M&A activity including public to privates.

James Pinner, BSc, ACA, Director - Corporate Finance
After graduating from Leeds University, James qualified as a chartered accountant with CLB Littlejohn Frazer before moving to New Zealand. On returning to the UK, James joined Ernst and Young London where he worked in the TMT and middle markets sectors advising on Corporate and Private Equity lead transactions and as a reporting accountant on AIM admissions. James has worked with a wide range of middle market clients and a number of large global entities including Vodafone, WPP, Reuters and Nokia.
At Blomfield James has lead a number of AIM admissions including a US/Israel based biotech firm, the first multi-asset class Shari’ah Compliant Fund on AIM and most recently an advertising brokerage firm based in south-east Asia. James is also involved in M&A and takeover transactions
Anastasia Protasova, MSC, Corporate Finance Adviser
Anastasia Protasova holds a BSc in Business and Management from the University of Bradford and an MSc in Investment Management from Cass Business School (City University). Anastasia started her career at Hichens, Harrison & Co. plc in 2004 as a small cap analyst and moved to the corporate finance division, where she gained experience in conducting IPO’s on AIM and was actively involved in both the due diligence and fundraising processes. In March 2006 she moved to City Capital Corporation (3C), an investment banking firm, where she specialised in IPO’s and private placements in the mining, power, utilities and real estate sectors.

Peter Trevelyan-Clark, LLB, ACA, MSI, Director – Corporate Finance
Peter began his career at Deloitte Haskins & Sells, which he left after qualifying as a chartered accountant in 1987. He has since worked in several investment banking and corporate broking roles including positions at Prudential-Bache, James Capel & Co and Townsley & Co. From 1996 until 2003 he was a Director of Corporate Finance at Teather & Greenwood plc where he executed over 40 UK domestic transactions on the Official List and AIM, including IPO’s, placings, restructurings, convertible issues and various M&A transactions. More recently he was a founding member of Zimmerman Adams International where he had primary responsibility for execution of transactions for overseas clients seeking admission to AIM.

Ian Kirk, FCIS, FSI, Corporate Finance Adviser
Ian is a former corporate finance partner of Fielding, Newson-Smith & Co and was a director of its successor company County Natwest Wood Mackenzie & Co Ltd. He was later appointed head of corporate finance at Charterhouse Tilney Securities and subsequently a consultant to Sutherlands. Ian qualified as a Chartered Secretary in 1971 and was a member of The Stock Exchange from 1980 until de-regulation in 1986.
Clement Rowland, Associate
Clement provides administrative support. He is fluent in French.
